The Pathology Laboratory currently receives specimens from physicians and employer groups from the five-parish area that make up Southwest Louisiana.

SERVICES

The Pathology Laboratory provides an independent facility for provision of services to our patients. Patients can have their blood drawn as early as 6:30 AM. to ensure the most accurate reading in our CAP-certified laboratory. We are open Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 to 11:00 AM.

For the privacy and convenience of our patients we offer a collection room so that patients may collect semen analysis specimens. Collection and drop off times for these specimens are 7:00-4:30 Monday-Friday and 8:00-10:30 on Saturdays.

DRUG SCREENING

We have DOT certified collectors trained to collect urine drug screen specimens. DOT collection hours are 8:00-2:00. Regular drug screen collections are from 8:00-5:00.

TOLERANCE TESTING

Our main location on Lake Street is adequately designed to accommodate those long waits when a Glucose Tolerance test is needed. We ask that testing begin before 11:00 AM to ensure the safety of the patient.

OUTREACH

In addition to our extended hours, we have a courier service that stops at over 200 locations daily to pick up specimens. This service allows patients to have their blood drawn in their own physician's offices. Most locations are serviced twice and sometimes three times per day. For those physicians who are open on Saturdays, we have a Saturday route to pick up specimens.

SATELLITE DRAW STATIONS

We have recently opened two additional draw stations to help service our clients and patients. Our Sulphur locations is next to West Cal Cam Hospital at 619 Cypress Street, Suite B open 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday-Friday. Our South Lake Charles location is at 4150 Nelson Road, Building A, Suite 3. Hours are 8:00-5:00 Monday-Friday (closed for lunch 12:00-1:30).

Through The Pathology Laboratory's commitment to the latest innovations, we are constantly on the look out for proven innovative ways to improve our diagnostic testing abilities. By utilizing the latest technology, we are able to bring the Lake Charles community services that once only existed in major medical centers. Today, The Pathology Laboratory utilizes the latest instruments from Roche Diagnostics, Qiagen, Siemens, Sysmex, Helena, BD Diagnostics, Dako, Tissue Tek processors as well as the Automated Cellular Imaging System (ACIS) from Chromavision.
